The Idea Is Simple.
We want you to enjoy a delicious homemade meal, with your loved ones, together around the table. I believe that the kitchen table can be a safe haven. It's where we can come together, unload our day, breathe, laugh, and truly where we can get fed in more ways than just with the food we put in our belly. Taking time to come together and break bread, share our days and ourselves around a table feeds our soul, and can often be taken for granted in our crazy busy lives. So, whether we've saved you from a night of cooking or even one less drive thru, our real hope is that you find your way around a dinner table together, getting your belly along with your soul fed, and you experienced some joy in the small window of the day called dinnertime.
Meet "Queen Ro"
-
Hi! I'm Rochell May, but my friends call me "Ro".
Let me first start by telling you, I am not a Chef.
My culinary education is straight outta of the kitchens of my mother, grandmother, and aunties, and watching Food Network and reading cookbooks for the last two decades! Family influenced, self-taught, self-made, and with God given gifts, but simply put, I am just a girl who loves to cook. I absolutely love to feed people. I love to create food that feeds the soul, that brings people around the table to enjoy a meal, some laughs, and to provide a sense of home and togetherness that only happens when you break bread with each other.
I grew up in a lifestyle where family dinner was the norm. We ate at the table together every night. We had extended family dinners on Sundays and Wednesday nights at my grandma & grandpa’s house. We set the table, adding leaves to extend them allowing for everyone to sit around together and share a meal. My high school boyfriend (who is now my husband of almost 20 years) came to my house for dinner many nights when we were dating. Some of my best friends shared meals at my grandmother’s table after church on Sunday, experiencing the joy of my norm. It was nothing out of the ordinary to have others join us around the table. Family dinner is something I cherish and hold very close to my heart.
In the fall of 2023, I wanted to share my passion for cooking and food, but also bring people back to the table with each other. I know, life can be crazy busy, between work, and juggling all the activities that we fill our lives with. But there is great value in taking an intentional pause with your beloveds, gathering around a table to breathe, take in each other, hear about each other’s days, laugh, talk, soak each other up! And what better way to do that than over a delicious meal! That passion found purpose, and so began “Queen Ro To Go”. Queen Ro To Go is all about this simple idea, providing you with a delicious homecooked meal (that you didn’t have to cook!) And friend, all you have to do is set the table! How amazing is that! The gift of time and food?! YAAAASSSS Queen, yes!
My Everything consists of an amazing husband (our love story is kinda monumental, folks!) and my two beautiful children that I’m incredibly blessed with! They’ve enjoyed the fruits of my labor for many years now but are my biggest cheerleaders for me sharing this gift now with y’all!
We reside in central Texas with over 50 extended family members within less than 20 miles of us! Not kidding!
For real, we roll deep!
